IT: How Churches and Leaders Can Get IT and Keep IT by Craig Groeschel (Bible Study Review)
Everyone wants it but only a few have it. While for some who had it seemed to lose it. What is this IT? Craig Groeschel did not exactly tell what this IT is. In his newest book, IT: How Churches and Leaders Can Get IT and Keep IT, Craig Groeschel describes this special force emanating from God that revolutionizes believers along with their churches, ministries, and families. From a humble beginning of a few people meeting in a borrowed two-car garage with hardly a microphone, overhead projector, and felt-backed chairs, but having this so-called “IT”, propelled them to become a thirteen (13) LiveChurch.tv campuses in six American states.
Craig Groeschel was declared as the 5th most influential pastor in 2006 while LifeChurch.tv was known as America’s Most Innovative Church on the same year. His other works include Chazown, Confessions of a Pastor, Going All The Way and The Christian Atheist (to be released April 2010).
IT: How Churches and Leaders Can Get IT and Keep IT is a Christian book equipping churches and ministers to respond to the varying needs of the people in and out of the church premises. Part I describes and explains what IT is: where did it come from, why some have it, some lack it, and what is needed for it to develop: a pursuit for God’s presence, desire to reach the lost, sincere integrity, Spirit-filled faith, genuine humility, and brokenness. Part II discusses the seven attributes of leaders (ministers) or churches (organizations) where IT is manifested: Vision, Focus, Camaraderie, Innovation, Humility, Outreach, Abundance. Part III of IT: How Churches and Leaders Can Get IT and Keep IT guides you whether you have IT, IT has you, how to guard IT, get IT back and keep IT.
IT: How Churches and Leaders Can Get IT and Keep IT also includes the profiles of churches and leaders who have IT: Herb Cooper, pastor of People’s Church; Perry Noble, pastor of NewSpring Church; Tim Stevens, pastor of Granger Community Church, Mark Batterson, Pastor of National Community Church; Jud Wilhite, pastor of Central Christian Church; Dino Rizzo, pastor of Healing Place Church; and Mark Driscoll, pastor of Mars Hill Church.
This Christian book is endorsed by Bill Hybels, Andy Stanley, and Ed Young.

IT: How Churches and Leaders Can Get IT and Keep IT by Craig Groeschel is a book filled with passion, life, enthusiasm, and humor. Expect quite a laugh even in its introductory pages. Being a visionary leader himself, Craig Groeschel will mentor you on how to live-out those visions and inspire you to make your church a safe place where people will be drawn by IT.
I have been part of a number of churches one after the other and held ministries and I have seen and observed what Craig Groeschel has been talking about. Some churches, ministries, and leaders have it, others don’t. This transformational yet sweet presence of God dwells and stays with churches, ministries, and leaders who yearn for IT and truly love God and glorify Him. Not necessarily with churches with grotesque building, highly-promoted church programs, and bombastic pastors.
IT: How Churches and Leaders Can Get IT and Keep IT by Craig Groeschel is available in hardcover and can be used in conjunction with the DVD.
